One Art

The art of losing isn't hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster,

Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.

Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these will bring disaster.

I lost my mother's watch. And look! my last, or
next-to-last, of three beloved houses went.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.

I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,
some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn't a disaster.

-- Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan't have lied. It's evident
the art of losing's not too hard to master
though...

Sheikh Mohammed AlAwadi has a program on AlRai channel. Today he was talking about Hijab and he mentioned two related poems.

Nizar has this poem:

Few days ago, we were invited for dinner to a friend's or i shall say she used to be a work colleague who her husband used to teach me at university and taught my sister too.

Anyway, when we were at their home, i called the husband with Doctor "fulan", and his wife said, no he is not a doctor but a Professor...and i thought what difference will it makes if i called him doctor or professor, if we are sociolizing in their own home!!!!!!

I had this question since then: does it really matter to call people with these titles? does it really make a difference to call them with the proper title they worked hard to gain them?

Will, you care to be called with the official name/title? will you be bothered if you were not called with them?

Sony reveals slim PS3, drops price

Slinky fall debut planned

By Austin Modine • Get more from this author

18th August 2009 21:46 GMT

After months of rumors, leaks and internet fakery, Sony has finally conjured the details on a new slim version of the Playstation 3 and price cuts on existing models.

The sleeker PS3 will hit stores September 1 for $300 in North America, Europe, and Asia. Sony also announced it will drop the prices of current 80GB and 160GB models to $300 and $400 respectively, beginning August 18.

Sony's trimmed-down PS3 will include a 120GB HDD in a package approximately two-thirds the size and weight of the original 60GB PS3 model. Power consumption has also been cut to two-thirds courtesy the console's redesigned processors, cooling unit and power supply.

Had I a full-length mirror next to the front door, I would be able to see what others see: a woman of average height and build, covered in several layers of fabric, a niqab, a jilbab, sometimes an abayah, sometimes all black, other times blue or brown. A Muslim woman in 'full veil'. A niqabi.

But is that truly how people see me? When I walk through the park with my little...
